HOLY CRAP! THAT'S AWESOME!

Las Vegas is sucking me dry.

I hate this place.

I'm so lonely. I miss being at school so much right now. Not because of anything in particular, but I have nothing to do when I'm at home and no real friends. I never go out on the weekends with anyone but my parents or my sister.

And no one is returning my calls. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just talk to some of my friends. But they never answer their phones and never call me back.

I miss them a lot.

I'm ready to go back to Virginia already.

I'm going to watch Amelie now to cheer myself up.

Just got hired as a busser for the weekend at Joe's Crab Shack. I'll work only Friday, Saturday and Sundays, which is actually the only time I really have. Besides working now, I have to:

1. Read Bleak House by Charles Dickens.
2. Finish study abroad application.
3. Write IES scholarship essays: (1) merit-based essay for all, and (2) individual essays for each of the two scholarships.
4. Read other ENGL 315 books if time permits.
5. Clean out more shit from garage.
6. Watch more movies.
7. Put garden gnomes in peoples' yards, where there were previously no garden gnomes to be found.

No pain, no glory. Only peace, love, and crabs.

Right now, I am sitting in my room in just a towel after taking a shower, listening to Simon & Garfunkel, and stalking people on facebook.

What has my life come to?

My life this summer, on the whole, is rather monotonous. Though fun at the same time. Is that somewhat paradoxical? My internship is lots of hardwork, lots of hiking in the heat, but still interesting and worthwhile. And I got to hold a horned lizard (which looks like a tiny dinosaur) and a Western Burrowing Owl (maybe, the highlight of my life).

The weekends are comprised o filial bonding and never enough sleep. I never get enough sleep really. Life story.

THis week I'll be in Tonopah (central Nevada) for four days, checking on recently reclamated sites. So basically, I'll be seeing how the other half (i.e. botanists) live life. Probably not as thrilling as zoologists, but I won't judge.

My parents bought me a .Mac account, which I'm not exactly sure what to do with. But I'm sure I'll think of something. Maybe I'll switch everything from my hotmail account to my new .Mac email address. If only because the corporate Beast that is MSN, owned by Time-Warned is probably operated by the devil. Much like everything else that might have been meaningful is now a shallow mockery. Ha ha.

Also, I have recently found my true life's aspiration: becoming a beachbum. Professionally. Don't judge.

I'm pretty sure that Ann Coulter is both (1) crazy and (2) evil incarnate/daughter of Satan. Ick. Her voice makes dogs bark and bats fall to the ground in pain.
